Book your consultation today!
We know that the cost of your health matters — and if you already have a private health insurance policy, it makes complete sense to use it. The good news is that London Homeopathy works with three leading insurers: Vitality Health, WPA and Simply Health, which means many of our consultations can be covered, partially or in full, under your existing policy.
If you are unsure whether your plan covers homeopathy, the best thing to do is give your insurer a quick call before you book. It only takes a few minutes, and we can always help with the paperwork once you have confirmed your cover.
We accept: Vitality Health · WPA · Simply Health
Which Consultations Are Eligible?
The following four consultation types at London Homeopathy are eligible for private health insurance claims:
- Adult Initial Consultation — your first appointment as an adult patient
- Child Initial Consultation — your child’s first homeopathy appointment
- Adult Follow-up Consultation — continued care and treatment review
- Child Follow-up Consultation — ongoing support for your child
Whether you are coming in for the first time, or continuing a course of treatment, you may be able to reclaim all or part of the consultation fee through your insurer, depending on the terms of your policy.
Not sure if your consultation is covered? Just drop us a message or give us a call before you book. We are happy to confirm which consultation type applies to you and help you understand what paperwork you might need. |
How It Works — Step by Step
Check your policy cover first
Before you book, call your insurer and ask whether homeopathy is included in your policy — or whether it is available as a complementary therapy add-on. Some plans include it automatically; others offer it as an optional extra. Each policy is different, so it is worth a quick call to confirm. Your insurer will also be able to tell you how many appointments are covered and what documentation they need from us.
Tip: Ask specifically about ‘complementary therapy’ or ‘alternative medicine’ cover, as homeopathy sometimes sits under this umbrella within your policy.
Book your consultation
Once you have confirmed your cover, book your consultation as normal — through our online booking system. Let us know at the time of booking that you will be making an insurance claim. This simply helps us make sure we have everything ready for you afterwards.
Attend your appointment and pay as normal
On the day of your consultation, you pay the standard consultation fee directly to us. We do not bill your insurer directly — the process works on a reimbursement basis, meaning you pay first and then reclaim the cost from your insurer afterwards. Andrew will spend time with you during your appointment — listening carefully, taking a detailed case history, and selecting the most appropriate homeopathic remedies for your individual circumstances.
We provide your insurance documents
After your consultation, we will provide you with everything your insurer needs to process your claim. This typically includes:
- A PDF invoice / receipt clearly showing your name, the date of consultation, the type of consultation, and the amount paid
- A Medical Referral Letter from Andrew Ward, setting out your name, the clinical reason for seeking homeopathic treatment, and his professional recommendation — signed and on headed paper
Different insurers ask for slightly different things. Some only need an invoice for each individual appointment. Others ask for a referral letter as well, particularly when you are starting a new course of treatment. If your insurer has specific requirements, just let us know and we will do our very best to accommodate them.
A note on multiple appointments
Some insurance policies cover a set number of homeopathy appointments per year — for example, six sessions. Others review claims appointment by appointment. We can provide individual invoices for each session, or a summary invoice covering a course of treatment, depending on what your insurer prefers. Just ask.
Submit your documents to your insurer
Once you have your invoice and referral letter, send them to your insurer as per their instructions — usually via their online portal, by email, or by post. Your insurer will then process your claim and reimburse you directly according to your policy terms.
Processing times vary between insurers. If you have not heard back within the timeframe your insurer quoted, it is worth following up with them directly.
Our Accepted Insurers
Below is a brief guide to how each of our three accepted insurers typically works. Please remember that every policy is individual — always check your own plan details directly with your insurer, as your specific cover will depend on the plan you hold.
Vitality Health![]() One of the UK’s leading private health insurers, with strong complementary therapy cover |
Eligible consultations at our clinic Adult Initial Consultation, Child Initial Consultation, Adult Follow-up Consultation, Child Follow-up Consultation. How it typically works Vitality Health policies often include complementary therapy cover, which can include homeopathy, either as part of your core plan or as an add-on. If you are uncertain, log into your Vitality member account or call their member services team to confirm exactly what is included and whether pre-authorisation is required before your appointment. |
Good to know: Some Vitality policies set a financial cap per therapy type per year rather than a limit on the number of sessions. It is worth checking both the number of sessions and any monetary cap before you book. |
WPA![]() Health insurance specialists with a strong track record in complementary and natural therapies |
Eligible consultations at our clinic Adult Initial Consultation, Child Initial Consultation, Adult Follow-up Consultation, Child Follow-up Consultation. How it typically works WPA is known for being particularly supportive of complementary therapies and has a straightforward claims process. In some cases, WPA may also ask for a medical referral letter — Andrew is happy to provide this. |
Good to know: WPA sometimes asks for claims to be submitted within a specific timeframe after the date of treatment. Check your policy booklet or contact WPA directly to confirm their deadline for submitting claims. |
Simply Health
A health cash plan provider offering everyday health cover including complementary therapies |
Eligible consultations at our clinic Adult Initial Consultation, Child Initial Consultation, Adult Follow-up Consultation, Child Follow-up Consultation. How it typically works Simply Health works slightly differently from traditional private health insurance — it operates as a health cash plan, meaning you can claim back a set amount towards the cost of eligible treatments throughout the year. Homeopathy is typically included under their complementary therapy benefit. After your appointment, we will give you a PDF receipt which you can upload directly to the Simply Health member portal. |
Good to know: Simply Health cash plans have annual claim limits for each type of therapy. It is worth knowing your remaining balance before booking follow-up consultations, particularly if you have already claimed for other treatments during the year. |
What Documents Will You Need?
Most insurers will ask you for one or both of the following. We can provide both — just ask us after your consultation.
PDF Invoice / Receipt A clearly formatted invoice showing: your full name, the date of the consultation, the type of consultation (e.g. Adult Initial Consultation), Andrew Ward’s professional details and credentials, and the total amount paid. We send this to you by email in PDF format. |
Medical Referral Letter A signed letter from Andrew Ward on headed paper, addressed to your insurer, confirming your name, the clinical reason you sought homeopathic treatment (including relevant conditions or symptoms), and his professional recommendation. This is the kind of letter that insurers typically require when starting a new course of treatment or when claiming for the first time. |
If your insurer asks for anything else — for example, a specific form to be completed, or details in a particular format — please do let us know in advance and we will do everything we can to help.
A Gentle Reminder Before You Book
We want to make this process as smooth as possible for you, but the most important thing you can do first is check your policy directly with your insurer. Here is a quick checklist before you pick up the phone:
- Does my policy include complementary therapy or alternative medicine cover?
- Is homeopathy specifically listed — or does it fall under a broader complementary therapy benefit?
- How many sessions are covered per year, and is there an annual cash limit?
- Do I need to obtain pre-authorisation or a GP referral before my first appointment?
- What documents will I need to submit my claim (invoice, referral letter, or both)?
- Is there a time limit for submitting my claim after the date of treatment?
Once you have those answers, you will know exactly where you stand — and we will handle everything on our end.
Frequently asked questions
It depends on your policy. Many private health insurers in the UK include homeopathy under a complementary therapy benefit, either as part of a standard plan or as an add-on. Vitality Health, WPA and Simply Health all have policies that can cover homeopathy consultations. The best thing to do is call your insurer directly and ask whether homeopathy or complementary therapy is included in your specific plan.
We currently accept Vitality Health, WPA and Simply Health. These are our three confirmed insurance partners. If you hold a policy with a different insurer, your plan may still cover our consultations — we can provide the paperwork you need, but please check your own policy terms directly with your provider.
The four eligible consultation types are: Adult Initial Consultation, Child Initial Consultation, Adult Follow-up Consultation, and Child Follow-up Consultation. If you are unsure which type applies to your situation, please get in touch and we will help you work it out.
Yes. London Homeopathy operates on a pay-and-reclaim basis. You pay the consultation fee directly to us on the day, and then submit your claim to your insurer using the documentation we provide. Your insurer then reimburses you according to your policy terms. We do not bill insurers directly.
Most insurers ask for one or both of the following: a PDF invoice or receipt showing your name, date of appointment, consultation type, and amount paid; and a Medical Referral Letter from Andrew Ward confirming the clinical reason for your homeopathic treatment. We provide both. If your insurer has specific requirements, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate them.
Yes. Andrew Ward can provide a signed Medical Referral Letter on headed paper, addressed to your insurer, setting out your name, the relevant health concerns or diagnoses, and his professional recommendation for homeopathic treatment. Please request this after your consultation and allow a short turnaround time for the letter to be prepared.
This varies between policies and providers. Some plans cover a fixed number of sessions per year — for example, six appointments. Others set an annual monetary cap for complementary therapies rather than a session limit. We recommend checking this with your insurer before booking, so you can plan your treatment accordingly. We can provide individual invoices per session or a summary invoice for a course of treatment.
Some insurers require a GP referral before they will approve a complementary therapy claim — others do not. This depends entirely on your specific policy. Please check with your insurer before your first appointment. If a GP referral is required, you will need to arrange this separately with your GP surgery.
Yes. Simply Health offers a health cash plan that includes complementary therapies, which typically covers homeopathy consultations. After your appointment, we will provide you with a PDF receipt that you can submit through the Simply Health member portal. Please check your annual cash plan limit for complementary therapies before booking, as this can vary by plan level.
After your consultation with Andrew Ward, we will send you a PDF invoice. Some WPA policies may also ask for a Medical Referral Letter — we can provide both. You then submit these documents to WPA via their claims process. WPA is known for being straightforward with complementary therapy claims, but check your policy for any deadlines for submitting claims after your appointment date.
Vitality Health policies can include complementary therapy cover that extends to homeopathy, depending on the plan level and any add-ons you hold. We recommend logging into your Vitality member account or calling Vitality directly to confirm your cover before booking. If approved, we will provide all the documentation you need for your claim.
